This sub-project will enhance understanding of the challenges and affordances of transdisciplinary artistic research on the ground, with a focus on questioning present rurban patterns and developing alternative imaginaries of climate just rurban futures. The PD in this project will connect and trace links between the PhD sub-projects and situated engagements carried out as part of this WP through ethnographic and participatory action research. Positioned in between a university of technology (UT) and an art academy (ArtEZ), this PD is optimally situated to conduct this research. Through fieldwork with the PhDs from sub-projects 1 & 2, the research team will develop a toolbox, including conceptual and methodological tools, to support transdisciplinary artistic research for transforming rurban patterns and imaginaries towards climate just futures in and outside academic contexts. In doing so, this PD will also collaborate with the researchers in WP1 sub-projects, evaluating and monitoring the process of the project. The toolbox for transdisciplinary artistic research will be presented and shared during a festival developed in collaboration with the local societal and cultural partners of this WP. Connects with WP 1 Sub-Project 1.2, WP 6 Just Practices.
